We Don’t Need To Be Politically Homeless – ORGANISE!

Standard

Sadly is has become obvious that the right will never allow the left to hold power, or have a fair shot at leading the Labour Party. Corbyn won twice fair and square and it wasn’t enough! The right of the party waged a guerrilla war against a kind old man who makes jam in his spare time and they aided and abetted the right wing media smears that he was death incarnate.

The left in Labour will only ever be good for two things and two things only, delivering leaflets and putting an X at the ballot box. We have spent the last five years having to justify and defend our very existence within the party. Well, it doesn’t have to be that way any more!

We shouldn’t go back in the box, we shouldn’t learn our place, we shouldn’t go gently in to the night – we should organise.

Whether you are leaving the Labour Party, or you feel like the Labour Party has left you, now is not the time to mourn. We have been given a golden opportunity to start again, to start something new, to start with a blank slate.

We can use what we have learnt and what we have achieved within the landscape of the right wing onslaught (from within and without) and craft something better, something fit for the 21st century and something without all the right wing baggage of the Labour Party.

Far from looking at this as a setback and the end of something special, we should see it as the start of something new. Imagine what we can achieve with all the energy and optimism we brought to the Labour Party, without being constantly undermined by our own side.

Now is our time!

Rise, like lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number!
Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you:
Ye are many – they are few!

It is time for a new movement to rise up out of the ashes of the Labour Party.
